What actually happens at a microdosing ceremony (from someone who's led them)

From Someone Who’s Led Them

A Q&A with Debbie Dhyan, founder of Mystic Wellness

“The medicine is a portal, but the ceremony is the vessel that makes the journey safe and meaningful.”

If this resonated with you and you’re feeling called to explore the power of mantra and Kundalini practice more deeply, you’re invited to join our EVO Collective Course — an 8-week journey of transformation, connection, and energetic alignment.

WHAT EVEN IS A MICRODOSING CEREMONY?

Isn’t it just… taking a small dose?

That’s what most people assume, and honestly it’s what I thought too before I went deeper into this work.

A microdosing ceremony is so much more than the dose itself.

It’s a held container, a sacred space where you’re supported through intention setting, breathwork, meditation, and integration. The medicine is a portal, but the ceremony is the vessel that makes the journey safe and meaningful.

WHAT DOES THE ACTUAL EXPERIENCE LOOK LIKE?

From start to finish.

We always open with grounding.

That might look like a short breathwork practice, some gentle movement, or a body scan, something to bring everyone fully into the present moment and out of their heads.

Then we set intentions together.

THIS PART IS UNDERRATED.

The clarity you bring into that space really shapes what comes through for you.

From there we take the dose and move into a guided meditation or sound healing.

The sessions typically run two hours.

There’s usually a sharing circle at the end, which is honestly where some of the most profound moments happen. People say things they’ve never said out loud before. When we chant, we don't just say the words, we become them.

WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE COME TO THESE CEREMONIES?

All kinds.

I’ve sat with founders who are burned out and disconnected from their purpose. Mothers who feel like they’ve lost themselves. Artists who are creatively blocked. Healers who need to receive for once.

WHAT UNITES EVERYONE IS A GENUINE DESIRE TO GO DEEPER.

You don’t have to be in a crisis to benefit.

Some of the most beautiful openings I’ve witnessed have happened with people who came in saying:

“I feel fine, I’m just curious.”

IS IT EMOTIONAL?

What should someone expect to feel?

Sometimes yes, sometimes it’s more subtle.

A microdose is not a psychedelic journey where you lose the thread of reality. You stay present.

But what often happens is that things you’ve been carrying just under the surface start to become visible.

  • A belief you didn’t know you held.

  • A grief that needed a little more space.

  • A memory that wants to be released.

I always tell people:

COME OPEN. COME WITHOUT AN AGENDA FOR WHAT HEALING SHOULD LOOK LIKE.

WHAT’S YOUR ROLE AS THE FACILITATOR DURING THE CEREMONY?

I hold the space. That’s really the best way I can describe it.

I’m not there to guide every single person through their experience, because the medicine does that far better than I can.

My job is to create safety, to stay regulated so the room stays regulated, to offer support if someone needs it, and to trust the process completely.

THAT TRUST IS ACTUALLY CONTAGIOUS.

When people feel that I’m not nervous, that I’ve done this many times, that I believe in their capacity to receive, they relax into it.

  • This is something I get asked a lot.

A difficult moment is not a bad thing, even if it feels that way in the body.

MY APPROACH IS TO MOVE CLOSER, NOT AWAY.

I’ll sit with someone, use touch if they’re open to it, guide their breath, and remind them that they are safe.

The Kundalini Yoga work I bring into these ceremonies is incredibly valuable here because we have tools.

    • Breathwork

    • Sound

    • Mudras

    • Movement

  • The integration of Kundalini Yoga is the thing I’m most proud of.

A lot of microdosing circles are beautiful, but they don’t have a somatic or energetic framework underneath them.

    Kundalini Yoga gives us that.

We’re not just opening doors and hoping for the best.

    WE’RE WORKING WITH:

    • The nervous system

    • The chakras

    • The energetic body

The medicine and the practice amplify each other in a way that I find genuinely extraordinary.

  • “I DIDN’T EXPECT TO FEEL THAT.”

    Almost every time.

People are surprised by how gentle it is, and how deep it goes at the same time.

    And then usually something like:

    “I FEEL LIKE MYSELF AGAIN.”

    That one never gets old.

WHERE CAN SOMEONE EXPERIENCE THIS WORK?

Right now, Debbie offers this work through the Sacred Radiance Retreat and within the Evo Collective.

She also offers a Microdosing Mini Course for anyone who wants to explore this work more independently first.

THE BEST PLACE TO START?

Following along, staying curious, and joining the community.
