Why I built my life around Kundalini yoga & What it's actually done for me

There was a moment in my life when I realized I had become incredibly good at showing up for everyone else, but not always for myself.

I was the kind of woman who liked to do things well. To fulfill expectations. To be reliable, productive, present, capable. And for a long time, I thought that meant I was living in alignment. But deep down, there was a part of me that felt exhausted from constantly adapting to what other people needed from me.

Kundalini Yoga didn’t enter my life as a trend or a workout. It arrived as a mirror.

Kundalini Yoga taught me that energy is not something abstract or mystical floating outside of us.

It showed me the ways I had disconnected from my own rhythm while trying to maintain everyone else’s comfort. And more importantly, it showed me that my energy was shaping far more of my reality than I had ever understood.

That was one of the biggest shifts for me.

I started realizing that the way I breathed, the way I moved through stress, the way I reacted emotionally, the way I spoke to myself, all of it was creating the internal atmosphere I lived inside every single day. And from there, that energy naturally extended into my relationships, my work, my creativity, and the opportunities I attracted.

It’s the tension your body stores without you noticing. It’s the anxiety that accumulates when your nervous system never truly rests. It’s the intuition you silence because you’ve learned to prioritize external validation over your own inner voice.

And slowly, through breathwork, meditation, movement, and stillness, I started learning how to come back to myself. Not in a dramatic “leave everything behind and disappear into the mountains” kind of way.

But in a deeply human way.

I learned that balance does not mean isolating yourself from the world in order to feel peace. It means learning how to move in harmony with what surrounds you without abandoning yourself in the process.

That changed everything for me.

I became more honest with myself. More aware of my limits. More intentional with my energy. I stopped forcing things that were clearly misaligned. I stopped glorifying burnout. I stopped believing that being constantly available was the same thing as being a good person.

And perhaps one of the most powerful things Kundalini Yoga gave me was the understanding that something as simple as the breath has the power to alter the rhythm of an entire day.

That’s why I built my life around this practice.

Kundalini Yoga didn’t make my life perfect. It made me more present inside of it.

And honestly, that has changed everything.

If you feel like a part of you has been asking for a different rhythm, a softer way of living, or a deeper connection with yourself, maybe this is your reminder to start listening.

I teach Kundalini Yoga daily at retreats, occasionally on IG live, and private sessions. If you’re feeling called to the practice - reach out to me.
